Angel

Angel
Sarah McLachlan

Spend all your time waiting
for that second chance
for a break that would make it okay
there's always some reason
to feel not good enough
and it's hard at the end of the day
I need some distraction
oh, beautiful release
memories seep from my veins
let me be empty
and weightless and maybe
I'll find some peace tonight

in the arms of the angel
fly away from here
from this dark cold hotel room
and the endlessness that you fear
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here

so tired of the straight line
and everywhere you turn
there's vultures and thieves at your back
the storm keeps on twisting
keep on building the lies
that you make up for all that you lack
it don't make no difference
escaping one last time
it's easier to believe
in this sweet madness
oh, this glorious sadness
that brings me to my knees

in the arms of the angel
fly away from here
from this dark cold hotel room
and the endlessness that you fear
you are pulled from the wreckage
of your silent reverie
in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here
you're in the arms of the angel
may you find some comfort here

I really enjoy this song, I daresay I love this song. It reminds me of a very specific time in my life, I guess this song accompanied me through. I like most of the music Sara McLachlan makes.

I hope you know this song too, Aneesa, because it is a very beautiful one.

I can't really think of another song that moves me in the way that this one does, Willowtree. I always mist over just a little, everytime I hear it; no matter how often that might be.

I saw Colorado got walloped yesterday. Are you snowed in?

Yeah, we got hit pretty heavy Wed. night/Thurs. morning (a few school closings), but by midday Thurs. it had stopped, and now today, Friday afternoon, we have lots of sunshine which has cleared the streets. Typical Colorado winter weather; one day cold with heavy snow, the next day sunshine and in the hi 60's/low 70's. We like to pretend to the country that we're always in this icy environment, but we really have lots of sun here, even in wintertime.
