"Amy"

"Amy"
Pure Prairie League

I can see why you think you belong to me
I never tried to make you think, or let you see one thing for yourself
But now your off with someone else and I'm alone
You see I thought that I might keep you for my own

Amy, what you wanna do?
I think I could stay with you
For a while, maybe longer if I do

Don't you think the time is right for us to find
All the things we thought weren't proper could be right in time
And can you see
Which way we should turn together or alone
I can never see what's right or what is wrong
(will it take to long to see)

Amy, what you wanna do?
I think I could stay with you
For a while, maybe longer if I do

(Acoustic solo)

Well, now
Amy, what you wanna do?
I think I could stay with you
For a while, maybe longer if I do

Now it's come to what you want you've had your way
And all the things you thought before just faded into gray
And can you see
That I don't know if it's you or if it's me
If it's one of us I'm sure we'll both will see
Won't you look at me and tell me

Amy, what you wanna do?
I think I could stay with you
For a while, maybe longer
Longer, if I do

Yeah, now
Amy, what you wanna do?
I think I could stay with you
For a while, maybe longer if I do

Fallin' in and out of love with you
Fallin' in and out of love with you
Don't know what I'm gonna do, I keep
Fallin' in and out of love
With you

Funny, that is one of my favorite songs too! I always listen to the whole thing every time it is on the radio, and sing it all the way through. I love your taste in music too, and you're just the coolest ever!

Hehe, Frank, I've never ever heard this song before, hmm, not that can remember in any case. I will look for it though. The first thing that popped into my head when I saw that picture of the little girl was Prairie Dawn hehe, I have no idea why as Prairie Dawn wore no hat... hmm, anyway, going to look for "Amy".

I heard Amy! And truly, I dont remember hearing it before, but it did remind me of when I was a little girl. In the evenings my mom would exercise to country tunes. The one I remember most was by Kenny Rogers. It was him and a woman, and I have no idea what the words were, only what they sounded like, and I am notorious for the comical translations my little ears picked up.
I'll spare you ha.

I hope you liked it. The "Franks" seem to have liked it. Damn them!

What you said reminded me of when I was little, too. My mom used to play everything; including Glen Campbell's "Gentle On My Mind", I think it was. That song had a line, "...leave my bag stashed behind your couch". I told my mom recently, that when I heard that line as a little kid, I would go behind our couch to see if a bag was stashed there!

Was it maybe Kenny Rogers and Dolly Parton? "Islands in the Stream"?

I'm glad you loved it, GC! You don't hear it much, unless you listen to classic rock (though it's "country rock" actually, like Poco and the Eagles).

"Wichita Lineman" is one of my favorites too. I just downloaded it, now that you mentioned it.

I did like it Frank. It's in my itunes now. Ive also collected a considerable amount of Kenny Rogers and... performances, There was a promising one, but it wasnt meant to be hehe. I'll keep on searching. The melody of Islands in the Stream is also known as "Ghetto Superstar" hehe.
On a completely random note - john.he.is - quite funny.
Like hope but different.
I like the looking for the stash behind the couch story. hehe
