What The Frick!!!

“You went into jail in the summer. It is fall now. You will have stories to cover—Iraqi elections and suicide bombers, biological threats and the Iranian nuclear program. Out West, where you vacation, the aspens will already be turning. They turn in clusters, because their roots connect them. Come back to work—and life. Until then, you will remain in my thoughts and prayers.

With admiration, Scooter Libby."

What the f@%#! does all that mean? Especially the part about the aspens turning in clusters, "because their roots connect them". It certainly sounds like a message is being sent. Is it a message of some sort of collaboration? Between whom? Do journalists now adopt political ideologies and work with high government officials on hidden agendas, like the manufacturing of disinformation as with WMD's, in order to start phony wars?

This is an excerpt from correspondence between VP Cheney's top aide, Lewis "Scooter" Libby, and Judith Miller, femme fatale intrepid news reporter for the New York Times, as reported recently by that paper as well as other entities, giving Miller permission (again?) to end the false heroics of her imprisonment in defense of the crooked Bush regime. Has an arrangement been made by the rest of the crooks to sell out Karl Rove in return for deals, as some speculate? Or is the reference to connected roots symbolic of a political neo-con alliance between journalists such as Miller and the Bush regime? She has certainly served their bidding in hyping a war based upon the most flimsiest, contrived crumbs of evidence since the Maine was sunk in order to start the Spanish-American war over Cuba.

What a shame, if American journalists now work for the government, instead of reporting on it. Shades of Soviet Russia, or even Nazi Germany, perhaps?

That really is weird, definitely seems like a code of some sort. It'll probably get swept under the rug and ignored though right? It's out of place.

There's talk that some indictments are coming very, very soon, maybe even tomorrow. It could be that some of those whose, "roots connect them" may be going down very soon, possibly exposing a previously hidden ring of "connections".

Oh, and there I was visualizing the beautiful Aspen leaves, the dogtooth aspen and the quaking aspen shivering in the wind, their interconnected roots gurgling water so quietly, quietly inside--the water crawling upward with capillary action and the xanthophyll eclipsing chlorophyll and the daylight hours wane.

Silly me.

Be careful about being caught up in all of the reverie of the exploding fall colors and babbling brooks's's, because Rove, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Libby, Rice and the rest of the Bush Elves are sneaking about meantime with big canvas bags, and they're not handing out gifts - there stuffing the bags with your Social Security, your Free Speech, your Right to Have Your Voted Counted, and Your Right To Be Safe.

Wicked little elves! Santa (prosecutor) Fitzgerald's goin' to punish 'em good!

Call me pessimistic, my rosy forecast is for Bush to get more and more unpopular, the war to go worse and worse for our soldiers and Iraqis, and if we really blow it, worse for US too.

I would advise us not to get too excited in advance however in regard to the current legal proceedings, for remember how entrenched and in control this administration is as regards the news media and almost everything else. There is a light shining brightly at the end somewhere somehow, it may not be until the duck lamely walks home with the country yet quacking ever more loudly, and it may not even be then. Looking backward at the last few Presidential elections, I am thinking optimism may be a bit too much positive emotion.

Fascinating... "their roots connect them?"

Thanks so much for the Weil quote. It was perfect. She seems like an amazing person!
