Where Is My Mind?

Where Is My Mind?
The Pixies

Oh-Stop

With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse if there's nothing in it
And you'll ask yourself

Where is my mind?
Where is my mind?
Where is my mind?
Way out in the water, see it swimming

I was swimming in the Caribbean
Animals were hiding behind the rocks
Except the little fish when he told me east is west
I swear he was trying to talk to me, coy koi

Where is my mind?
Where is my mind?
Where is my mind?
Way out in the water, see it swimming

With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Your head will collapse if there's nothing in it
And you'll ask yourself

Where is my mind?
Where is my mind?
Where is my mind?

Oh
With your feet in the air and your head on the ground
Oh
Try this trick and spin it, yeah
Oh
Oh

"That came from me snorkelling in the Caribbean and having this very small fish trying to chase me. I don't know why - I don't know too much about fish behaviour." Frank Black in SELECT, October 1997

Hehe there's something amusing those lyrics. I imagine the song would sound like "That's Not my Name" by the ting tings.
Im not sure why.

It is amusing, I though so too! It's probably one of their best known songs.

The Pixies were an alternative group from the late '80s. I never listened to them then, but a friend in the early '90's used to always rave about them to me. They sang (more like howl-ed, perhaps) about off-beat topics like UFO's and some dark stuff too. I saw a documentary on them the other day, and I really liked the energy they put into their work. Very powerful. Groups like Nirvana and Radiohead have said that they never would have existed, were it not for the Pixies. There's more on 'em over at Wikipedia.
